55' x ,Milli L CDR. ROGER L. BUSCHMANN EXECUTIVE OFFICER CDR. Buschmann joined the USS WAINWRIGHT in the fall of 1985, when she was undergoing in- terim refresher training in Cuba. He had previously been the executive officer of NRD Albany. When he came to WAINWRIGHT, he was XO - CDR. Roger L. Buschman, USN, joi- ned the USS Wainwright in late 1985, dur- ing interim refresher training. W qff raw, A-TEN-HUT! - The XO calls the ward- room to attention for one of nine surface warfare awards ceremonies. - , N v 1 I still a Lieutenant Commander, and he made Commander in the spring of 1986. During his tour, he has im- proved the running of the ship's ad- ministration, as well as the ship's in- ternal appearance. When the British MP's came to visit in October, the ship looked her best in a long time. .my S 1 l COMMAND QUALS - The XO and the Captain discuss business on the bridge wing prior to a berth shift. CAPT. GEORGE A. HUCHTING COMMANDING OFFICER Capt. Huchting came to the WAINWRIGHT on 17 April 1985, relieving Capt. J .R. Dalrymple when the ship was winding up her 1984-85 Mediterranean deployment. He is due to be relieved in June, 1987. With his emphasis on doing things by the book, and his constant push- ing of himself and his subordinates toward the aggressive pursuit of ex- cellence, Capt. Huchting has made the USS WAINWRIGHT one of AND MANY MORE - MS1 Viado and FN Bimber cut the U.S. Navy birthday cake as the CO steadies it. DUST, JIM - Capt. Huchting tours a pas- sageway with the Supply Officer prior to a complete paint out. RE-UP - The CO reenlists STG2 Fruin in his cabin. Fruin reenlisted for shore duty orders. 8 the most professional ships in the U.S. Navy. TWO MORE OOD'S - The CO pins sur- face warfare pins on LT Holland and LT Callahan, two of nine new SWO's.
