'84 Prom Full of Magic The 1984 Jr.-Sr. Prom was held April 13 in the Wahoo High School gym. The banquet was held at the Presbyterian Church. King and Queen were Randy Koranda and Ann Lindley. The prom servers presented a skit that looked into a few of the seniors' futures. Superintendent Hunzeker gave his after-dinner speech and the candidates were announced by Ann Hancock. The candidates were Jenny Olson, Dan Thompson, Shelli Miller, Jerome Johnson, Susie Laudenback, Dave Lorenzen, Alysia Ferguson, and Mark Simonson. The entry to the dance floor was a trellis covered with flowers and doves. The ceiling was strung with pastel streamers, ranging in color from lilac, baby blue, pink, and mint green. A large pink and white gazebo was the center for the coronation. The background for the pictures was a bridge with blue and white angel hair underneath and pink and purple flowers around it and a starry night behind. Refreshments were served in a wishing well. The music was supplied by KFRX, the D.J. was Tracey Johnson.

Crucible Challenge for Students The caliber of 'The Crucible' was a tremendous challenge for us, stated director Connie Dillow, referring to this year's speech and drama play The Crucible by Arthur Miller. The play was presented the evenings of March 30-31 in the Wahoo High Little Theater. Some of the scenes, such as the courtroom, were difficult to perform because they were very emotional and tense, and many of the cast members were new to the stage. This production was different from past years because it was performed in an arena which made the audience a part of the scene. Some of the characters in The Crucible were Tituba (Florence Chalvin), Abigail Williams (Piper Tomczyk), John Proctor (Mark Simonson), Reverend John Hale (Jared Ketner), and Elizabeth Proctor (Marcia Lindgren). 19
