Academic: WHS Has Bust lear “Constant improvement is a necessity in this day and age in both courses offered and course content. We need definitely to improve our library and our vocational program. And as all of you are well aware, facilities is an item that needs consideration,” commented Mr. Kenneth Ackermann, principal for the past 11 years at Wahoo High. Mr. Ackermann’s main job deals with job coordination of curriculum, the general operation of the high school and student-teacher relationships. With talk of redistricting in the near future, Mr. Ackermann finds it is of no value, “unless it is of an advantage to the students, and this in my opinion will give students within the area a much broader curriculum with improvement in the academic area and definite opportunity in the vocational areas which we now lack.” Mr. Ackermann finds that reorganization can be accomplished with a decrease in taxes within our own district and “a guaranteed high school attendance center for all students within the reorganized area. Mr. Ackermann and Dianne Barry look over the selection of Senior portraits. 29 There was always time for fun and relaxation in the teacher’s lounge.

Mr. Gene Piper Mr. Robert Yarmon Mr. Derrel Ludi Mr. Archie Larson Board Works For Changes Dr. Richard Davis was the new superintendent for the 1969-1970 school year. Dr. Davis feels high school should not only be a place to prepare yourself for college but also for a vocation as many students can not afford college. If changes were made and space was made available a vocational program could be set up. He also stated that very few of the school’s policies had been changed but that the Dress Code would be enforced only in extreme cases. Dr. Davis took an active part in all school activities and could be seen any time in school visiting classes and with the students. Working with Dr. Davis for new and better changes were the members of the school board.
