Secretary-Treasurer. The group attended the annual Librarians Convention, which was held at York. Eight new members were initiated into the club, which gives it a total of 27. CHIEFTAIN STAFF STUDENT COUNCIL Representatives of each class make up this governing body. The council sponsored the Freshman Mixer Dance. Lester Miller was elected President of the council; Dennis Strauss, Vice-President; and Edna Pieper, Secretary-Treasurer. Those on the Student Council are STANDING left to right: Edna Pieper, Dennis Strauss, Lester Miller, Bob Cooper. SECOND ROW: Sharon Anderson, Lanny Larson, Mr. Ackerman, Cliff Novy. FRONT ROW: Ricky Erickson, Roger Brodd, Gary Rezac. The school paper, the Chieftain, was published every three weeks by this staff. The staff included editors, artists, reporters, office practice class, mimeo-graphers, and distributors. The staff brought news, sports, gossip, and jokes to the school. Any student who is interested in science may become a member. The only requirement for membership is that you make one or more scientific projects during the year. This year the club sponsored a Science Fair where numerous projects were exhibited.
