COUNTY GOVERNMENT The annual Cornhusker Boys' and Girls' County Government was held March 26. The Wahoo American Legion Post No. 82 was the sponsor. The purpose of this day is to educate the participants in the operation of county government. This year the junior class was fortunate to be under the direction of the following five seniors who had previously been elected Girl and Boy Staters: from Wahoo, Beverly Loukota and Richard Me Master; Malmo, Mary Bachand and Paul Sorenson; Colon, Mary Jo McDermott. Mr. Hanson was in charge of the group. Students were divided into the Nationalist and Federalist parties. The parties each held a caucus which ended as the Nationalist Party invaded the Federalist Party meeting. The winners of the primary election spoke at a general assembly. The results of the general election are as follows: Clerk, Fed., C. Krajicek; Clerk of District Court, Nat., M. Vrana; Registrar of Deeds, Nat., L. McKlem; Treasurer, Fed., D. Proett; Sheriff, Nat., R. Cooper; Assessor, Fed., R. McPeck; Surveyor, Fed., F. Pearson; Attorney, Nat., F. Vybiral; Justice of Peace, Fed., R. Biggerstaff; Agent, Fed., J. Olander; Veterans Assistance, Fed., L. Miller; F.ngineer. Fed., J. Pearson; Home Extension Agent, Nat., C. Dockweiler; Assistance Director, Fed., W. Miners; Supervisors, Nat., K. Smith, M. Smith, S. LIBRARY CLUB The Library Club, sponsored by Mrs. Hansson, is in its second year at Wahoo High. The students in the Library Club prepared bulletin displays for the study hall and were helpful as student librarians in the assembly. To raise money the club sold candy. A Halloween party was held for the club's members; and a Thanksgiving Turkey Hop was sponsored by the club for the whole school on November twenty-first.
