Awarded annually by the News-Banner, it is given in memory of the former Grizzly players who gave their lives in World War H. All the varsity players vote for the senior player whom they feel is most deserving of it. It is awarded on the basis of team spirit, clean play, leadership, sound classroom work, and cooperation in following orders. Bob Harry, sports editor of the News- Banner, is shown presenting the trophy to Loyal. Loyal was also outstanding during the basketball season. He scored 245 points for an average of 17 points per game. In the tournament he led Wadsworth in upsetting Cuyahoga Falls, cham- pions of the Western Reserve League, as well as Garfield, city champions of Akron, the top seed- ed team in the district with 15 straight victories. Loyal was chosen outstanding player in tourna- ment scoring with 75 points in four games. He made 27 against Garfield, the highest for any one player in any one game. WADSWORTH LUMBER CO.
