HOMECOMING Spot Light The week preceding Homecoming was called Spirit Week. In an effort to build excitement and interest, events such as a tug-of-war, Hat Day, and Grub Day were sponsored by each grade. Royalty was once again an important event this year. Hundreds of people gathered in the gymnasium on Friday afternoon to witness the crowning of Mark Schumacher and Sheila Gales as king and queen. Deanne Bamum and Randy Zimmer returned to do the honors. The climax of the week came on Friday night. Keeping the slogan Cater the Raiders the Rabbits defeated Morgan by a score of 27-6. With the help of Catseye, a dance after the game provided a perfect closing to a memorable week. What did you think of Homecoming, as opposed to the previous year? Dick Cady- It was really nice; everything ran smoothly. The addition of royalty once again made it feel like the traditional Homecoming. There was no hassle or bad feedback as to which candidates were chosen as king and queen. Patty Macht-I was glad they decided to have homecoming royalty once again. Sheila Gales-I really liked it. It was real- ly fun! We had a lot more spirit this year with coronation. I think it gave the team more spirit. It was great in other words!
