Heaven In Your Eyes Homecoming 1986 was a big success after many cancellations and much rescheduling. The week started out on Monday with students dressing up for Hawaiian day and progressed as Toga day, Punk day, Grub day, and Red White Hat Sunglass day rolled around. Monday night was set off with a bonfire followed by a car caravan to Plainview (which Lance will never forget). The volleyball team lost to Lewiston on Tuesday but won on Thursday when they played El-gin-Millville. The first in a long time parade was held Friday at 1:30. The parade consisted of the homecoming candidates, volleyball and football teams, cheerleaders, band, and floats which each grade constructed. The parade started at the Anderson House and ended at the middle school where the powderpuff football game and tug-o-war were held. The football game against Plainview was held at the high school due to the large amounts of rainfall we received. (The river was up approximately 13 inches!) The week wound down on Saturday after Bernard Richards and Amy Blaschko were crowned king and queen at the dance. Music was provided by KQRS-92.

The team enjoyed the thrill of victory and on some occasions realized the agony of defeat. The W-K netters, led by the co-captains Michele Arens and Sue Tentis, captured the District III championship, earning the first district title since the origin of girls sports activities at WKHS.
