Wayne, Mr. Schumacher B-Squad Has Rough Season With only seven seniors, W-K found itself short on man power and experience, according to Coach Karger, but in turn they were never outclassed. The guys played a well-fought battle this year and deserve a great congratulations! Mike Loechler, senior co-captain, said, It was an exciting year, but I wish we could have made it to the playoffs. Troy Koopman, senior co-captain, remarked, We all had fun, but I wish we would have won a few more games. Dana Hendrickson and Terry Sylvester, let-termen stated, Everyone fought to the finish and we never quit. The Indians turned in victories over Lake City, Plainview, and Spring Valley. (The last two were in overtime). Troy Koopman and Mike Loechler were named to the Three Rivers All-Conference team. Mike Loechler was chosen M.V.P. 1985 Captains Troy Schneider and Dana Hendriksen hope to lead a fine group back to glory next year. This year's freshmen and B-Squads had a slow start but they came around and played well at the end of the season. It was definitely a learning experience for the players, one which will hopefully help them in future years. Three Steps (Or 175 Days To Go) The end of the year seemed so far away that first day in fall, but after that first day, it seemed like we never had a summer vacation. Those first few days were always exciting — seeing new faces, making new friends. All too soon, though, Homecoming had come and gone, the last touchdown scored, the final service made. Somewhere along the way, we chose class colors, ordered announcements, but still couldn't decide on a favorite senior proof (well, 1 had narrowed it down to six). Some of us even took time off to visit colleges and vocational schools (or dentists???). It wasn't long before we were taking finals and were once step closer to that final day.
