Then, las a tune-un for the Plymouth game, the Scalpers defeated Mon- ticello- 37-7. On October 7, the Plyimouth Rockies enter- ed Wabash to play in what was undoubtedly to be tlhe deciding battle in the conference. The Rockies administered Aipaches' only defeat of the season in a 'galflle highlighted by the sub-par playing of the Apaches. After a week of gruel- ling practice under Coach Tatum. the boys de- feated Peru 27-6, and then in the next week rolled over Hartford City, 33-12. These boys opened massive holes for their backs and refused to budge while on de- fen-se. Leonard Drook switched from quarter- back to half-back in fall nnactice and displayed a surprising amount off power and cleverness.
