WE. l'EllN AU. l'll XLI 1 G-DAY from the land down under. The CANNONBALL visits the conti- nent, which is famous among money things. For its marsupials most notably the Koala and the Kangaroos. Australia is also known for its great beaches and vast outback. After 56 days out to sea and three paychecks to save up, USS WABASH moored for a well deserved six days visit. We visit Perth! Freemantle of Western Australia that had the distinction of being in a group of cities, born from a British Penal colony rather, in 1829 a group of British individuals settle here to establish a self-governing body known as the Swan River colony. Today, Perthflfreemantle is home to one of the largest con- centration of people next to Sydney. The people are warm, caring and will even invite you over to eat dinner over their house. The weather isn't so bad either while we're there enjoying ourselves in the sun and away from the water for a change. Therefore, if you ever have the chance to visit any country in the world. Please go to Australia and you won't be disappointed. Pl'll'l'll
