WOMEN WE l.lCl+ l' BEHIND Duty calls and we must pull up all lines and set sail to distant lands. Our loved ones bid us a safe farewell and hope that we will have a quick return. We say our GOOD-BYI-IS with heavy and misty eyes and take that one last look that will be remembered in our hearts fdr six s. long month The women we left behind dread our departure, but they know that it is necessary and it is indeed our responsibility. They try not to think about what's ahead for them, but must immediately face long days on their own just as the ship departs the pier. The women left behind are the walls of strength that hold our families together while we are gone. After a time at sea, the reality of waking up and not seeing our spouse's lovely face begins to set ing the days drag on and on and calendars begin to cover the bulkheads, all pointing to the last day of our separation. We are comforted with letters and phone calls, but nothing seems to fill the void we feel inside. Although it seems that WESTPAC 90 went on forever, it was mooring to the pier that took longer, for no more than forty yards away were our best friends, the women we left behind. The men of the WABASH want to take this time and thank the true heart and soul of the WABASH, our wives and girlfriends. WE LOVE YOU ALL. , 771: f, ff MRS SEEBER ,9' ,UZ A LONELY STARE 151
