Word From ne Navy Wife l A NAVY WIFE By Mrs. Eugene Collins It takes a special woman to become a Navy wife, . A woman with the patience to accept the constant strife. l A woman who, when he is home, just lives from day to day, And doesn't talk about the time when he must go away. A woman who, when he is gone, can carry on her life, A On foreign soil, or native land, she is a Navy wife. A woman who must make new friends each new place she goes, A woman who must always be alert and on her toes. A woman ready day and night, for changes and delays, And one who doesn't pause when the mail is late by days. A woman who must sometimes take the role of Mom and Dad, And make decisions, without help, on subjects good and bad. A woman trained for anything from carpenter to plumber, But one who plays the major role of being wife and mother. A woman who is alone for months out of her life, God bless and keep this special woman known as the Navy wife.
