SERVES 226 MENTALLY RETARDED AND MULTI-HANDICAPPED CLIENTS FROM 7 SOUTHEAST ALABAMA COUNTIES — BARBOUR, COFFEE, DALE, GENEVA, HENRY, HOUSTON AND PIKE, CLIENTS RANGE IN AGES FROM APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS TO 65 YEARS OF AGE, A STAFF OF 51 PROVIDE SERVICES FOR PRE-SCHOOL. SCHOOL-AGE, VOCATIONAL, ADAPTIVE BEHAVIOR WORK ACTIVITY AND WORK CENTER CLIENTS. EMPHASIS IS PLACED ON SELF CARE SKILLS. RECEPTIVE AND EXPRESSIVE LANGUAGE, LEARNING SELF- DIRECTION, CAPACITY FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING AND ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY. THE OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF THE SCHOOL IS TO PROVIDE THE FINEST TRAINING AND QUALITY HABILITATION POSSIBLE FOR THE MENTALLY RETARDED AND MULTI-HANDICAPPED IN DALE COUNTY AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES IN SOUTHEAST ALABAMA.
