IN MEMORY OF ERNIE JACOBS On Monday, February 23,1981, Ernie Jacobs died of cancer. He attended Vivian B. Adams School where he was enrolled in the Work Activity Center on January 28, 1980. Ernie was involved in several activities in the center and was an inspiration to all of his co-workers and supervisors. Ernie was an outstanding student who was graduated from Carroll High School in 1976. At the age of 18, he was diagnosed as having a brain tumor. Ernie attended Enterprise State Junior College for one quarter and began having extreme visual loss due to the tumor. He had surgery in October 1976 which enabled him to later complete one year at George C. Wallace Junior College and one-half semester at Allied Health Services at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Ernie was in training to become an EEG technician but due to severe visual problems he had to withdraw from the program. At that time he attended Talladega School for the blind for four months. Ernie was a member of the Rocky Head Baptist Church where he was a humble and obedient servant of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. The testimony which he gave everywhere touched the lives of many.
