Iowa Falls 12-6 in Finale Out of the District 4-AA race the Lions were playing only for the prestige of winning, and winning was a second nature to Big Red who for the first time in four years missed a playoff berth due to injuries, and two ties. However the State Champs had tasted their only defeat at the claws of the Lions headed by Coach Barbeau, Mueschke, and Lewis the Lions mentors.

All District Reflects ALTON KIBODEAUX, 1st Team Defense TACKLE The Vinton Lions snared seven positions with six players on this years 4-AA all District Team. This was indeed testimony to the Coaching ability of our fine staff and to the ability to the Vinton Lions. In comparison the State Champs who were from our district only managed to place seven players on the District team in eight positions. Larry Loyd and Glen Ray are both Juniors who will be back with the Lions next year and will un- doubtedly be part of next year’s success formula for Coach Barbeau's Touchdown Machine.
