Homecoming time had come!! Ohs and Ahs echoed in the streets as our queen, Valerie Jordan and her court: Claudette Hoover, Karen Foster, Joan Hacker and Rita Wilson passed by. After quick sup- pers, everyone hurried to the field to see Queen Val- erie crowned by Skeet Buck, a former football coach of our school. After Queen Valerie was crowned, the game began with Washington winning 33 to 12. The traditional sock hop followed in the Coliseum as our seventh Homecoming came to a close. Novel stunts and ideas seem to be the rule with this high spirited organization, Miss Helen Polk, pop- ular physical education supervisor and instructor, is responsible for the faculty leadership of this club, which meets in the morning before school to practice their stunts and yells. Most popular of the innova- tions ot this season was the color block of girls wearing white and green blouses. This color block not only vocally encouraged the team, but visually as well, as they spelled out words of encouragement to the battling Alices.
