Go Spartans, Go, Go! was all that could be heard at the Kickoff time. This wasn't just any game, this was Villa Park High's Homecoming. The home side of the stadium watched the game intensely, but also waited in anticipation for the announcement of 1987's Home- coming Queen. At halftime the event began. Five beautifully dressed girls were driven out in shiny, old- fashioned Corvettes and all were escorted by their fathers. Who would be crowned queen? This year's Homecoming Queen is . . . Beth Carpenter! The crowd roared with enthusiasm, as Beth graciously accepted the 1987 Homecoming crown from last year's queen, Ranae Randals. The game continued on with Villa Park conquering El Modena in a 27-17 victory.
