Seniors Celebrate Close of Year yggigue gan., Kandi Bryant shows enthusiasm at the Katella foot- ball game. hile seniors look forward to graduation, the list of prepara- tions and anxieties mounts. The SAT, Scholastic Aptitude Test, is an important preparation and also a worry among seniors. To take the test, a student had to wake up at 7:30 am to be at their chosenschool by 8:30, The students were tested on both math and English. It is a mind-boggling experience for seniors and usually a relief when completed. Some seniors took classes to prepare for this test. These gave students sample SAT tests to solve and help in preparing. V Another preparation for seniorsplanning to attend college was the applications sent to each school. Most college applications had to goth. The decision to concerned oth- very time con- were and appointments to .visit the References from teachers and counselors were sometimes required. All this planning and preparation frustrated and de- pressed seniors, After filling out forms and talking to counselors, seniors then had to worry about paying for their college. Sometimes, if they were lucky, their parents might pay for the expenses. But the question is, how do you ask your parents for an extra fourteen thousand? The unlucky seniors must find jobs, and work their way through college which is an- other worry and frustration. Besides college preparation, there were other worries, such as finding a date for Homecoming, or Sadie Hawkins. A senior canlt break his record of not missing one dance, especially his senior year. If there isn't a dance, then seniors had to find where the nearest party is or the latest movie playing. For a senior, to stay home on a Friday or Saturday night was a waste. When the year was finally over, seniors X'----..,. 'S ' .mwkn 'i'c+a,,-S - ..,. Over already? -- Susie Kimball left behind all frustrations and worries, and CELEBRATED! Graduation meant finally breaking away. Parents realized that their child had grown up, and was now an adult. Graduation was sadness for some but relief for others. Some seniors get upset because they do not wish to depart from their closest friends. Others are excited and can not wait to move on to other things. Whether sad or happy about leaving, all seniors are happy to have completed high school, and almost all will celebrate! page by Jayne Thomas In troduction I9
