'N 'ui No, assemblies aren 't roll call and hassle. Diane Cairns VPHS students witnessed a wide variety of non- mandatory assemblies. Rock group Shuffle mixed comedy with music in morning and evening shows. Sophomores were oriented during a get acquainted assembly. Coordinated by Pep Commissioner Sue Farb, numerous pep rallies promoted spirit and offered entertainment. Nutrition assemblies were highlighted with the arrival of Super Spartan senior Dan Wischnack and junior Casey Cochran's presence atop the cafetorium during Spirit Week activities. Pep Rallies, gymnastic demonstrations, and music created by numerous bands gave Spartans a chance to look, see and do. Climaxing a semester of well attended assemblies, hypnotist George Sharp entertained a SRO crowd in the Villa Park gymnasium. TOP: Elmo Little Men, Cathy Decker. Vicki Newton, Wanda Kleist. Carla Haun, Lisa Davey and Connie Banning sang their story of ding-a-Iings to Commissioner of Pep, Susan Farb. LEFT: Fellow players Kirk Reidinger and Joe Nlelendez congratulate Flandy lVlcGinley, Player of the Week, during a pep assembly preceding the Mission Viejo game.
