Carla cleaning the kitchen of a private home Marian 1 using the vacuum cleaner We have just completed our second year in the cooperative program with the Department of Rehab¬ ilitation, and we are pleased to announce our first success. Ron McElheney has recently been hired by the Parks Recreation Department as a full time 40 hour a week employee. We anticipate our other two students progressing from work experience to on the job training in the forthcoming school year. A new cooperative program was started this year between the school district and R.C.A.R.C. where we had our graduates spend two months receiving training at the sheltered workshop in Riverside. We plan to make this a regular part of our occupa¬ tional training program available to our graduating students. In addition we were fortunate to have a paying contract from Dynalectron Corporation in Norco. We removed old film from microfilm cartridges, cleaned the cartridges, and then reassembled them so Dynalectron could re-use them with new microfilm. The money earned helped finance various lunch outings, a day at Knott ' s Berry Farm and a Luau dinner - dance. Kathy L. cleaning the bathroom of a private home -25
