Julian Weaver Principal we Gabe Escalera Assistant Principal PRINCIPALS This year, the important office of assistant principal under- went many changes in the personnel department. As we said good-bye to Mr. Novaclc, who went on to a new position at Hesperia High School, Mr. Escalera made himself at home as assistant principal in charge of buildings and grounds and disciplinary actions for seniors. But let,s not forget our other assistant principals - Mr. Frey and Mr. Wilkinson. Mr. Frey, who was previously Dean of Students, became the man in charge of activities and the position of Dean of Students was given to Mr. Wilkinson. Through all these changes, however, lVlr. Wvcaver remained in the top position as principal of our school .ind continued to do an outstanding job. 'U 'U' 7 5. Vfilliam Frey Van Wlillcinson Assistant Principal Dean of Students X qu uv 4. BOARD OF TRUSTEE The Board of Trustees truly had a trying year. The Board increased graduation requirements, saw the opening of Hesperia High School, and also approved the building of our new cafeteria. The Board, however, had its share of problems. A teach- ers' strike was the result of the uncompromising attitudes of the Board and the teachers. An angry public put out a recall on every one of the Trustees. The first casualty of the recall effort was Pat Callaway who resigned as president of the board. William A. Tarr Superintendent 5.1 it From Left to Right: Anthony Piazza, Patricia H. Philomenai ghea Head Counselor Robert Johnson Counselor . Nate Ruffin Counselor COU ELORS The school year of 1984-85 was a very hectic one for our counselors. It's true they have always been there and have tried to do their best in helping the students with their problems, but with the addition of the Freshman class, a long wait to see a counselor was inevitable. Even so, our counselors went out of their way to assist students in solving their problems as quickly as possible. Lucy Weist Counselor's Aide 2 1-:LH 228 Counselors and Counselorls Aides
