Varsi t Basketball This year was a great year for Coach Ollie Butler. This year, he won his 5ooth basketball game in his career as a basketball coach. The Jackrabbit basketball team was truly one of the best this year. Winning the season opener against Riverside Poly Q66-581 prepared the Jackrab- bits for league play. When facing Apple Valley, the -lackrabbits lost 47-52, but in the second game the team avenged their defeat ending on top 52-51. The jacl-:rabbits showed no mercy against their new ri- vals, Hesperia, by defeating them in both games with scores of 70-37 in the first game and 54-46 in the second. The Basketball Homecoming game was truly special. The Jackrabbits faced top notched San Bernardino and finished on top with a score of 63- 51. With a Season record of I4 wins and 7 losses and a League record of IO wins and 4 losses, the Jaclcrab- bits earned the second position in SAL Basketball. The second position earned the jackrabbits a seat in the CIF Playoffs. Entering the first round of the CIF Playoffs, the Jackrabbits faced Edgewood High School. The game was very close, but Edgewood prevailed with a score of 65-61. Although they lost in the playoffs, the -lackrabbits are to be commended for their strong and powerful performance in the CIF Playoffs.
