Attaining good grades has always been an important goal of hard working students at VHHS. Long hours of work are often rewarded with such honors as being chosen for National Merit recognition or being tapped by the National Honor Society. To help students enjoy their work, teach- ers frequently plan different activities such as a fencing class in theater and exciting experiments in sociology. After their first three years, students Find themselves concerned with the dif- Hcult decisions of being a senior. College Night provides help in determining a school choice and possible career op- tions. As seniors prepare for the cul- mination of their endeavors, they mea- sure for caps and gowns and order graduation announcements. In May stu- dents are presented with honors and scholarships at Awards Day. Finally, seniors achieve the ultimate academic ac- complishment — graduation. Learning to fence in theater class. Tapping for NHS. Working on a biology lab. Taking endless state tests. Investigating possibilities at College Night. Dressing up for a sociology project.
