BAND During our school year, the Vernonia Band was very busy putting on concerts and supporting our football and basketball teams. The last two weeks of school were devoted to graduation. Mr. Kelson, the director, worked hard to make the band a success. The Pep Band plays a song during a game. Fay Russell, Dan Hearing, Zenda Ellis, and Chris Smith went to Music in May.

STUDENT COUNCIL Student Council was responsible for setting policy, reaching decisions, and generally guiding the direction for student activities at VHS. The energetic and friendly officers for 1968-69 were Dado Briones, president; Zenda Ellis, first vice-president; Alan Johnston, second vice-president; Joyce Knowlton, secretary; Mary Brunsman, treasurer; and Paul Nelson, manager. President Dado in action. Advisor (and frequent entertainer) was Mr. Parrow. 30
