F -ff Freshman Class History At the beginning of the school year, 1927-28, fifty freshmen entered V. H. S. Eight have entered since. On October 28, 1927, we had a bereavement in the loss of one of our fellow classmates, Harold Mortimer. About two weeks after school began a class meeting was called at which the following class officers were elected: Gloyd Adams, presidentg Tord Berg. vice-presidentg Grace Condit, secretaryg and Junior Bennett, treasurer. Later Larry Marshall was appointed reporter for the freshmen class. Mrs. Brewer is our class advisor. Three weeks after school began the sophomores gave us an initiation party. We were good sports and had as much fun as they. Our class has been an aid to the high school athletics. Many of the boys made the second team in football, and also had the honor of having one of the Freshmen boys on the first team in basketball and a sub for the first team. Maxine Blair was a sub for the girls' basketball team. Page Twenty-one
