RUTH CLEIENTS 'Blondie's secret ambi- tion seems to be to own a ranch. You'd never have believed it be- cause she seems Just the type that would fit into a cozy little cottage. Sweet and lovable to all Cand innocent to those who don't know her.l TIILA JEAN CLONINGER Twila, who is peppy as well as peppery, is a nonchalant little liss who is often heard say- ing Wlaxien. You should recognize her as that super-saleslady of annuals. TDI COCKERELL One of the leading mem- bers of the V.H,S.Band, Tom plays a soothing trombone, and is a just Ntoo too' divine dancer. His quick wit and good humor make him a de- lightful person to know. I LOIS COOK Her persistence is ri- valed only by her inter- est in sports. She likes to sew, cook, and dream of red and white kitchens with muslin curtains and a red ge- ranium on the sill. CULLEN COX Captain uCassanovaH Cox . has one of those winning smiles that has won him an endless list of friends. Captain of the football squad, an all- district center, he is one of the best examples of a good sport. BILLY CURRIN leet Mr. Currin, with all his million dollar words and artistic ges- ticulations. His in- exhaustible abundance of energy and wit have made many friends. FAYE ELLEN DIETRICH WFi-Fin makes friends as easily as she makes melo- dies. She has a very be- coming, and we might add, cute Kansas accent. Those soft brown eyes and dimpled chin make her a very charming miss. A. J. DUFFIE How much one doesn't know of A. J. unless one really knows! He is very likeable, takes advantage of his oppor- tunities, is fair and square, and always comes to the right conclusions. JIIMY ELDRED If friendliness ispa mile stone to success, Jimmy will have an abundance of it. He enjoys life because of what he puts in it and has a splendid way of meeting people! NELL RUTH FARRIER Nell has an unexpected ambition--to pilot a plane! Her mind is full of visions of herself piloting bombers to Bri- tain. She would prefer her co-pilot to be tall, dark and handsome. OLLIE RUTH HASKINS LOU ELLEN HIPP NThe way to a man's heartn, you know, is--and Lou Ellen really knows how to splash the hash. She is a real friend and a good sport, too. Ollie Ruth's ambition to be a nurse fits her to a HT.N Her hobby is writ- ing letters that she nev- er mails--and her dramat- ic ability was establish- ed as a result of her fine acting in USuspend- ed Animationn. DORIS LEE H LTON Doris with her deep brown eyes is attrac- tive to all the stu- dents of Vernon Hi, especially to the stronger sex. She is Sulphur Springs' loss and our gain. NELSON HUDSON All the qualities th make Nelson a good c leader made him innu able friends. JANIE KING Janie never meets a stranger, and with her frank feeling of com- radeship and a laugh Kthat is as contagious as chickenpoxl she has made herself one of the mostnlikeablesn in all V.H.S. DOROTHY KNIGHT nDudieN Knight may be little, but she does not go unnoticed in a crowd. She has been dubbed by friends as the Nmighty moleculen. HALLIE HARIE KOONTZ There's a light o' good nature and friendliness that shines from her eyes which im ediately draws you to her. She possesses a mild and maidenly manner--a girl everyone likes. EDDIE LOU KREBS Eddie is composed, re- fined, gentle, and has the trait of offering help when it is most needed. She would make a good advertisement for hair nets, 'cause you never saw her with a lock out of place. GUY LAMAR Here's the Guy with that tantalizing black wavy hair. He likes best to bowl and hunt, but we like him. HARGUERITE LAYNE Do you know Maggie? Well, of course, every- one does. She is full of something that never runs down--just a nat- ural. 5 BRYANT MCDONALD Bryant has been an outstanding band mem- ber in V.H.S. for several years, and is an excellent student. He is destined to be- come an expert avia- tor. JACKIE MAYFIELD Look who's next! It's none other than HWhat-a- mann Mayfield. He may not look like the stu- dious type, but he has enough in his cerebrum to attain the honor of being a member of the Honor Society. RUTH MATHIS Ruth strives very har in her school work. She is allergic to in toxicated people and has an unequal love for hamburgers--has been a very active band member. Her wonderful sense of humor has brought cheer to many hearts in V.H.S DELL NIXON NED OIENS He has gained as many friends in one day as most of us have in four years. By his witty comments you are con- vulsed with laughter on the most solemn oc- casions. Ned's made of the right stuff. JO ANN PERRY Here's a little red- head who doesn't act a bit like one--has a host of friends as a result. If you have seen any of Jo's art work, you know she will realize her ambi- tion by going far in the commercial art field. Nsinging for her suppern seems to he her favorite pastime--she is that nightingale of the Sr. Class. Truly she is a credit to V.H.S. She is one of those talented Nixon twins. HARTHA JANE OWENS lartha has blue eyes, dim- ples, and a complexion Cleopatra would envy-- also a long list of dis- likes which include nDe- tention Hallu and being a member of the NTen 0'clock Scholar Cluhu. CLOIS PKIPPS Lonesome Cbecause his girl friend lives else where! Clois is a strong believer in the philosophy that every- thing works out for the best. LAWRENCE PLUI ER If silence is golden, Lawrence is worth his weight in gold. He is a large leaf on the tree of knowledge-- in fact he's the ber- ries. LILLIE BELLE RAY If you think nDimplesN is always quiet, calm and dignified, you are certainly mistaken! She is full of life and is very companionable. To really appreciate her you must know her. BILLY RIALL The most energetic lit- tle person in V.H.S., Bill is a very persis- tent fellow, but with flashy convertible he can well afford to be. He never commits the sin of being idle. that KENNETH RUSSELL NRuStyN, a good student, a good athlete and a good sport, has the es- sentials of a success- ful business man.
