CLASS PROPHECY In the year of 1982 my cous1n and Ihad Just made our f1rst rrullxon and had dec1ded to take a world tour III order to celebrate As we started we never dreamed that we would soon see any of our classmates from the class of 57 As we got mto our tax1 to go to the axrport we nouced to our surprtse that thedr1ver was Larry Scroggms He told us that he had 12 ch1ldren and he had become a ftrm behever of the old saymg Cheaper By The Dozen Only the sad thmg was that soon he would have 13 I guess you could call thts a baker s dozen Soon we were at the axrport the captatn was Slafldlllg on the runway by the plane welcommg all the passengers aboard We knew that we were gotng to enJoy tlus tr1p when we recogruzed that face belonged to J 1m Ftsher one of our dearest fr1ends He had succeeded 1n fuushmg h1s term in the A1r Force and was a record breaklng f1rst class p11ot Hrs Co p1lot was none other than the Les R1chardson We would never have recogn1zed Leslie because he was a plump man of 250 pounds A neatly dressed stewardess was standmg tn the doorway of the plane. We were surpnsed to see ll was Jean Collett She sald she had led an excmng l1fe Twelve hours later we were III Hawan and we were taken to the famous Heart Break Hotel owned by the world known Dw1ght Caldon Murphy He was Jtlted and that 15 why he gave h1s hotel such a sad name. Hrs star boarder as we later found out was poor heart broken Joyce Tabor To take our bags to the room was Martha He11man she was marned to a mov1e actor and happy After we had rested we went for a sw1m on the beautlful Wallqkl Beach We saw M1ss Amenca who was also on a world tour She had recently won the tttle. It was wonderful to know that one of our Classmates had reached thls goal, for tt was Janet G1lrnore All of a sudden we heard the call for dxnner There should have been a warrung for stampede because we got m the m1dd1e of one cons1stmg of small ch11dren rtmning over toward the1r mother DOHC other Ihafl Dor1s Davis Claudme was pracucmg a new stroke, the dog paddle and she had ventured out too far Soon she was callmg for help She was soon saved by a handsome 11fesaver J1mrny Cornett He was S1111 s1ngle and he had dec1ded to make a career of hfesavmg. nat1ves who were under the gmdance of the noted m1ss1onary Rebecca Brown Inher career she had succeeded 1n C1V1llZ1Ilg 3 8755 nat1ves a very good Job That afternoon we went s1ght seetng m the swamps and I, Carol Mclntire, got my foot caught m a v1ne and fell 1nto a badly 1nfested Crocodlle stream.
