The 1985 yearbook staff proudly dedicates this edition to a woman that has given a lot of service to ' erbum Dei High School. This woman is Sister Philomene Breemans, I.C.M. Sister Philomene has and will continually teach ' erbum Dei young men the meaning of hard work and dedication. Sister Philomene Breemans joined the Verbum Dei family back in September of 1971. She brought with her a good back-ground of teaching experience and many other talents which has given added life to Verbum Dei. She likes teaching the students that attend Verbum Dei tremendously. Her field of expertise is the sciences. Sister Philomene would one day like to teach a course of bio-ethics, a combination of science and theology. There have been graduates that have returned to ' erbum Dei to thank Sister Philomene for her untiring efforts, guidance, and even her punishments which has helped them to be the success that they are today. Thank you Sister Philomene for fourteen years of service and dedication to the young men of ' erbum Dei. Mav vou have many more blessed years at Verbum Dei.  :i i :ifl H fl ;fr|| Verb students at work and play. And a quicky candid of Fr. Hoefler Below: Are regular faces at Verbum Dei, except one MR. (Mr. Gutekanst) 1 16 Verbum Dei proudly presents its graduating class of 1985. We are proud of each one of these young men for their individual as well as their collective gifts and talents which help shape every facet of student life. Four years ago, these young men wondered when it would be their turn to be in the spotlight. Being in the spotlight consists of the privileges of being able to have Senior Square for their own, which means they do not have to share the same turf with underclassmen, not wearing a tie on one day of the week, and most important being looked up to as a role model for underclassmen. Every day has not been sunshine but without the rain they could not have appreciated the good times they have shared over the years. It is now almost time for them to enter into the world as men of courage and faith. Whatever their future endeavors are, may they be challenging and rewarding. Remember to always move ahead and let nothing hold you back from your goals. May God Bless.
