,AV Na- , W. E 2 The Verbena Chapter of the Future Homemakers of - 4 America consists of boys and girls grades 8-12 who are now enrolled or who have had classes in home eco- nomics. Monthly programs are designed to help meet the needs of its members. The program theme for this school year has been Teen Pressures: How They Af- fect You. Our chapter has sponsored a foster child at Christmas and contributed to the Alabama Association FHA Foundation. Students involved in home economics and FHA are provided with information and training in family life L C, Sponsor-Mrs. Becky Pierce President-Mary Hayes R., that helps prepare them for their future roles in society. FFA The FFA is a national organization of students enrolled in vocational agribusiness. The FFA provides students the opportu- nity to develop leadership abilities by taking part in and conduct- ing meetings. Students are also given the opportunity to use what they have learned in class, shop, and field trips to compete against members of other FFA chapters through the FFA contests. Some ofthe FFA contests we participate in are Dairy judging, Livestock judging, Land judging, and Tractor Driving, Mr. Price.
