To otll-ers lie was always kind, He wzvever was quite bad. Carl is a very quiet boy who does not speak often, but he has that happy knack of saying the right thing at the right time. Carl has been with us thcse past four years in High School and he has chosen his subjects well as his grades will show. We predict a successful future for him and if our good Wishes will help-here's plenty of them. , eu, MILDRED REDFORD EDNA WAGNER She is pretty to walk with, It'.r 'nice to be 11fHf1H'Gi And witty to tulle with, MIIICIL yozfre naturally nice. A na' plea.va1u5 to remember. Gee! but you are missing half of your life if you haven't met Mildred. She is so quiet and has such a sweet disposition that you really couldnlt keep from loving her. She is one of the smartest in her class and is always willing to help others. She does not believe in talking much, but when she gets started she is hard to stop. Mildred is Editor of our Annual -and what a fine editor. It would be hard to get along without her. Here's the best of luck, Mildred, always. Though the way be dark and dreary the shadows will be lifted by Edna's sunny smile and cheery words. Sad indeed must be the heart that fails to lighten in response to her cheerful quips. Edna is a friend in the finest and truest sense of the word to her companions. She is the kind whom you could trust without doubt- ing, knowing that your friendship will be more than reciprocated. Edna hasn't given us a hint of what she expects to be in the future, but We all join to say--happiness, Wealth, health. -..sgf 13 Bc..-

Anson has spent his school days at Varina. He believes that all work and no play makes jack a dull boy, therefore, he comes only half of each day. This proves that he is a brilliant pupil. Anson is an expert in the Sciences, especially Chemistry. He will gladly help us with our problems and experiments. We will not be surprised to find him teaching Chemistry at Yale. The Class of '31 wishes him much success. MILDRIID AMORY Mildred Amory, 011 so servant, When- it wmv.: to lorlifig, she rawft be beat. Mildred is an all around good sport. What would the class of '31 have done without Mil- dred to sell ads in the VAMNIAN. Believe it or not, one of the wonders of the class of '31 is whether Mildred is living to love or loving to live. We feel that her future will be a great success. LULA THROCKMORTON A little misclzicf by thc way, A little f1l'llf to spite the day. Lula is a ready and willing worker especi- ally when there is work to be done by the School Committee. We feel sure the Class of '32 will find it no easy task to fill the chairman- ship with another Lula. Taking into consideration Lula's work in Home Economics, we predict that she will make a capable housekeeper for? 15 gf..-
