' ' ' uimiul it - a.,..q I J ning the eirls' public speakina contest in the High School and also in the County and District meets. Thus we ended our Junior year. We had only one more year to go. After a very pleasant vacation had passed, we came back together to and ourselves still nearer our eoal. We were really Seniors! Who could believe it? Seniors! Yes, really Seniors! We quickly greeted three new Seniors who dropped into our class from the preceding class, and three of our old classmates did not return. After we had settled down and started back to work, Emmett Lipford and Stan- ley Fussell decided they liked home better than school. This year our class is interested in all school activities. We have eight members on the basketball teams, the president and secretary-treasurer of the Athletic Association, the president of the Junior League, the president ol the F.F.V.'s, the president and secretary of the Carrie A. Lyford Home Economics Club, the president, vice-president, secretary-treasurer of the Chemistry Club, the president of the French Club, the president of the Chorus Class are all from our class. All the debaters this year are from the Senior Classg they are: Helen Wagner and Wilmer Hedrick, afiirmatives: Thelma Day and Christine Sweeney, negatives. The best girl public speaker is from the Senior Class. She is Ruth Fussell. Secretary-Treasurer We hope that the members of our class will be as active in the outside world as they have been in our School. We use the motto of The Three Musketeers, which is, All for one and one for all. We Seniors have always taken up for each other. This year we won distinction among the classes through some of our members, one being vice-president of the Athletic Association, six mem- bers on the basketball teams, and one secretary of our Junior League. After working hard, we won the program contest. During this term we also had some members who went out for track and competed in the County Meet. One or two went to the District Meet. A little later in the year we lost three of our members, leaving eighteen on the roll. We ended the Sophomore year with a much stronger determination of reaching the goal After all of us- had enjoyed ourselves wonderfully well during vacation time, we came back to find ourselves Juniors. We could hardly believe that we were really Juniors, because it seemed only yesterday that we were in the Freshman class, taking up our new studies. We again had some new teachers. Miss Shelburne came in place of Mrs. Stoneman, and Miss Riddell in place of Miss Talley, who became Mrs. Shepherclson soon after the close of school. We again noticed that we had lost some oil our old classmates. One had joined the Sophomore Class, and one did not return. This brought our number down to sixteen. After all of us had begun to work again, two dropped out to find home more interesting. Our number was now fourteen. Our oflicers for this year were: Virginia Nelson .......... ..........,................ P resident Wilmer Hedrick ......,... ..,.....,.............. V ice-President Louise Sadowsky .,........... ........,.... S ecretary-Treasurer Our class was very interested in the activities of the School. We had seven members and one substitute on the basketball teams, four boys on the baseball team, and two on the track team. These boys and girls won us much distinction in the school. Five of our members were on the Stu- dent Council three were on the Annual staff, one president of the Athletic A, iation ,one vice-president and one secretary of the Carrie A. Lyford ssoc Home Economics Club. The vice-president, secretary and treasurer of h l One the F.F.V.'s were from our class. We also published a sc oo paper. of our number named it the Bits of N ews, and we published it with the co-operation of the entire school. After the second term, Thelma Day came to join our class, which creased our number to fifteen. Thelma won honors for our class by win- l23l

Oh, what a surprise it was-so many that I cannot quite understand each, but I hope you may. Also, I could not print everything. New York City, N. Y. To All: I certainly feel at home when any one says New York Opera House, as this is my permanent home. I was Madame Butterfly the other night. I made a big hit with a Fifth Avenue guy.
