Before this, students went to the old Dra- per School for grades one through eight, and those in high school went into town. 1926 saw the first graduating class of six students. Today we have fifty-seven seniors graduating. Every year our enroll- ment increases. This year we have one hundred eight in the eighth grade, al- most four times the number in 1926. In 1930-1931, the west wing of the building, including the gym, was com- pleted. Ever since, Vandercook has been expanding. Our two most recent additions are the shop, built in 1952-1953, and the band room finished in 1956. Vandercook Lake High School is not just a building - it is the students, fac- ulty, clubs and teams working together to make Vandercook a better place to learn and work. We have done a good job so far - let's do even more to make the history of our school one full of pleasant memories. Left to right: Judy Thompson, Junior Editorg Mrs. Hammersley, Advisory Carolyn Saumier, Junior Business Manager. Seated: Gayle Boldrey, Business Manager. EDITOR'S MESSAGE sent to you our 1958 REVIEWER. This book has caught glimpses of this school year and spotlighted the main events, so that in years to come the activities at Vandercook Lake High School will not be dimmed nor faded from memory. To you, the students, and to you, the faculty, and to our photographer and adver- risers, may we express our sincere thanks for the support and cooperation given us. In later years, while tuming these pages if you should recall the many smiles, sor- rows, and dreams of '58, we shall be con- tent, knowing that we have done the task we were called upon to do, Reviewer staff Marjorie Moore, Editor Reviewer Staff at work, Bette Barden Susan Barncord Cynthia Britten Yvonne Choate Kay Jennings Norma Lundy Sandra Nelson Cynthia O'Brien Polly Penn Caren Quillin Karen Sadler Margaret Stewart Sandra Taylor Sharon Thompson y Marilyn Van Zandt Janet Voorheis Wir' QT: sf ,mme wsiw... - ,muy-glek f. ww-2 W, M4:.:..-vw-f . qyvf - . .,.h,', Wh IWW ,M v,1ms.,, ,, hw t"""fi wg, Mvgif Tvs W-W , ,,sM,s,.- W Www, 91 www-qw wg , W Because of your lnterest rn the students, your de votion to Vandercook Lake Hlgh School, and your D E D I I G N understandlng counsel, we dedxcate thls 1958 Revrewer to you, Mr John Myers May rt be a trrbute to your worthy alms and hrgh endeavors A Q W -M AMES Wy?
