 DEAN PASCHAL Dean Franklin C. Paschal is one of the most active men on the Vanderbilt facu'iy. He is a graduate of DePauw Uni- versity and received his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. In 1927 he came to Vanderbilt as Associate Dean and Professor of Psychology, and until 1935 he served as Dean of the College of Arts and Science. When Vanderbilt was divided into a Senior and a Junior College the problem of choosing a man to be head of the Junior College was an important one. Dean Paschal, be- cause of his splendid past record, was selected and has capably served in this capacity for the past four years. VanderbiJ has. in Dean Paschal, a teacher of Psychology rated as one of the best in his field. As Director of Re- search in the Indiana Reformatory and as Professor of Psy- chology he has had vast experience as a psychologist. Dean Paschal has not confined his activities to teaching alone, but has had numerous articles published in leading magazines. —-!iinimi.iltale tj o iii u niv i c s i i y DEAN STAPLETON The First Lady of Vanderbilt —that is a title that would appropriately describe Dean Ada Bell Stapleton. As the first Dean of Women, she has rendered a faithful service and proven herself to be a necessary part of a greater Van- derbilt. Dean Stapleton graduated from Central College in Missour received her M.A. Degree from Washington University, and her Ph.D. from King's College. University of London. Her extensive traveling abroad has endowed her with a superior culture and made her an ideal teacher of English Literature. As Dean of Women, her duties bring her Into intimate contact with the coeds at Vanderbilt. She has w:se!y and capably advised the women students at Van- derbilt since she first became Dean of Women. She plays a vital part in the social life at Vanderbilt, and her annual Washington Tea is an event enjoyed by all. Dean Ada Bell, as she is affectionately known, has contributed more than her share to the cultural, social, and educational side of Vanderbilt.
