CAFETEERS The Cafeteers were awarded the All-School Club Award for the most outstanding school service club at Van Nuys High School. Their sponsor, Dr. Harker, has done a wonderful job in helping each student. A vote of thanks is owed to her. The club, while serving their school, learned how a business is managed and how to meet customers. Each mem- ber trys to stick to their motto HAlways Be Cour- teousn. They greet each customer with a smile. The club had two guest speakers, Mrs. Monell and Mrs. Freeman. Learning more about the cafeteria business enhanced the club members' interest in their jobs. The President for the past two semesters has been Ralph Cuthbert. Through the sponsor's wonderful guidance and the help of the able presi- dent, the i'Cafeteers', have become a very success- ful organization. They were ably assisted by Captains Roger Smith, Steve Christenson, and Ralph Cuthbert. The sponsor of the Ticket Takers was Mr. Johnson Whose chief aide was Captain Sarkis Sarkissian. SAFETY COMMITTEE The residents of Mt. Olympus were not bothered by fires, but the ringing of the fire alarm has created a special reaction in the minds of even the most studious Wolves. The school immediately becomes vacant, and a quick search is carried out by the Safety Committee. 'CSafety,, is the goal of this organization, which consists of eleventh and twelfth grade boys. The job of the Safety Committee is to arrange our fire drills, bomb drills, to see that all buildings are evacuated, and to help promote safety on the campus at all times.
