JUNIOR SCHOLARSHIP SOCIETY Because of the increased number of BlO's having earned the grades to qualify for C.S.F.. Van Nuys High School decided to form a Junior California Scholarship Federa- tioon. This club would prepare them for joining the senior group when they became eligible. It was started under the sponsorship of Mrs. Katheryn Stewart. and their purpose was NService Through Scholarship . Since the membership changed entirely each semester. each group chose a project to work on for the year. Spring Sports Book sales have been their project in the past. The society also assisted the senior group in tutoring and other activities, especially in social functions. Past presidents were John Kline. Dudley Long. and Dianne Wliite. SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP SOCIETY With 'Scholarship for Servicev their purpose. the Sen- ior Scholarship Society completed a highly successful year. Under the guidance of their new sponsor, Miss lean Robb, many things happened. President of the Fall semester was Kenee Kay Miller while Irene Curtis was elected to the oltice in the Spring. Their projects for the year have been varied as well as important. Some of them included tutoring stu- dents who needed help in their studies, keeping a college tile for studentsi information and their invitational assembly which featured the HFour Lads . Many fine and interesting guest speakers spoke, and films of Hawaii, Europe. and the mountains of Tennessee were shown. These were enjoyed by all members as was the annual barbecue held in the Spring of the year. SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP FIRST ROW--F. Epinette, M. Page, H. Dockhorn, H. Weekes, B. Butow, S. Levin, J.
