IVAN REEVE President Page Tztwzfy W,53 BOARD OF CONTROL The leaves were falling. but student government at Van Nuys High was as solid as the Bock of Gibraltar. When fall came to Hellenes, she found one of the best examples of young democracy in the working, for part of Van Nuys High7s program of making better citizens is the Board of Control. A great part of the Board's work is credit lost, where credit is due, because of the fact that so much. of their Work involves indirect action. The board assists greatly in the smooth operation of a big school. Ollicers for the Fall Semester were led by Student Body President lvan Reeve. Keeping accurate records for him was Lynn Langford, Secretary. Care of the treasury was entrusted to Lynn Anderhazy. Treasurer. There was no lack of activities for the girls and boys of Van Nuys with Nancy Hiles, Girls' President, and lack Dooling, Boys' President. Many an assembly was expertly planned by Lea Castro. Commissioner of Assemblies. Clubs saw a definite rise with Commissioner of Clubs Vllendy McCracken. Commissioner of Halls and Grounds Bob Daggs waged a hard war on papers. No one was in the dark with Commissioner of Publicity Diana Goodman and Commissioner of Publications ,loe Miller around. Commissioner of Safety Larry Lyman saw that all was well and safe. Commissioner of Scholarship Kenny Kay Miller kept the lamp of learning burn- ing brightly. ln the Held of school service Commissioner La Verne Bartz kept the records in order. Commissioner of Social Activities Dori Rossi supervised some grand activities. Miss Geraldine Keough ably served as sponsor of the board.
