EDWARD CALVIN WILSON Calvin Wilson was born on September 5, 1940, at Frenchton, Upshur County, West Virginia. He attended Buckhannon-Upshur High School and while there the sport he participated in was baseball. Remaining loyal, in spirit, to his Old Alma Mater, he was very proud of the fact that Buckhannon-Upshur was the Class AAA football champions of West Virginia for the year 1963- 64. After graduation, Mr. Wilson entered West Virginia Wesleyan College. While at college he played baseball and was a member of the track team. Having had a great interest in "facts" he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree and majored inmathematics and minored in Physics. Mr. Wilson is one of our busiest teachers at Van and teaches the following classes: Algebra I and Il, Plane Geometry, Physics, and instructs a special class in Solid Geometry and Trigo- nometry. He has been a member of our faculty for two yea.rs. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge and is an assistant councilman in The Boy Scouts of America. His hobbies are varied, but most of all he enjoys hunting and playing golf. He and his wife, Loretta, reside at Washington Avenue in Madison, West Virginia. The Vancourier Staff is happy to dedicate this annual to Mr. Wilson and wish him the best of luck. gg .CN4 www' A fx4wW"fi""t"' 47 63 swwf' awww' Awww Auwqvwm ' ' ' """'UUJP-I 'HG C 0 N T E N T S fl!! The prospects for a 1965 banner season are much brighter for all of the players have had one year's experience. Ranny Hyatt, Pitcher Coach Ed Fincham SHOULD SPELL SUCCESS With "playba1l" this year the boys will take their positions dressed in new gold and blue trimmed uniforms, purchased by the Student Council. This should really inspire more hustle in each and every player. The hands of time move on and soon The schooi days too must end- But no man is an isiand For we reach out to a friend. it's hands that lift us up each day As down iife's path we've trod- Untii the race is run, and We are in the Hands or God. eil Gary Lee Karr Senior - 1965 .
