SUBVEYING SPORTS Valley started the I9-i8 football season with a bang. as one of the youngest teams in Valley Iligli history played one of' the hardest sched- ules in the state. The promise of future stars was noted by their performance in this grueling season. The season was noted for upsets and heart breaking close games. As it always will, youth and experience told in the final analysis and this was not Valleys year. but the fast- growing tradesman served notice to all comers that he had a future and meant to live up to his promise . . . As this is written. Valleys i949 basketball team is in the midst of one of the most exciting seasons that can be remembered by Valley old timers. A team composed of young boys, seasoned with a sprinkling of court veterans, has consistently made older and heavier teams bow to their superior skill and team work. While no completely accurate fore- cast of the outcome of the season can be given at this time, we are fully confident that the once- beaten, Valley basketball team is going places this year. We predict that Valley's athletic stock is very definitely on the upswing, and the concensus of opinion is Valleys going to give everybody a lot of trouble next year. Shown below are action shots from the Valley-Lanett basketball game and the Valley-Tallassee foot- ball game.
