A , Homecomin Week The week of Homecoming was filled with lots of spirit-boost- ing activities. The cheerleaders worked hard in promoting pride and spirit by having dress up days and decorating the halls with posters. The parade and serpentine down main Street involved the town's peopleand got everyone excited for the football game that was to follow. The Vikings crushed the Wahtonka Eagles and celebrated with the Homecoming dance the following night. . .- i., . - -... .Tu , ,. jf' s -I ,qi-.1 V., W' Wqlr Above: Students serpentiine down main street. There also was a mystery couple, Linda and Julie Delong. They were dressed as Darth Vader and Princess Leah. Everyone tried to guess who they were as they were getting mar- ried. The atmosphere ofthe dance went along with the theme, "Star Wars'.'. Multi-colored lights reflected off of tinsel streamers, casting intergalactic illusions. Bottom Right: Everyone seems to think David Paulsen should buy the box but Jerry Thompson and Colton Langmack appear to already have their eyes on it. -Q This year our annual Box Social was a good example of Vale students contributing to a good cause. The lettermen gave generously for the colorful and imaginative boxes created by the girls. Everyone seemed to indulge delightfully into all the salads, breads, meat, and especially the desserts that were laid out on the specially decorated tables. After every- thing was cleaned up, everyone relaxed and socialized at the dance. Lots of thanks go to the teachers who judged the boxes and took care ofthe money. The money that was made will go towards all the sports programs in the school. ll l-fvtin You ,qu Ann !,v.ll'R't'ilPJli hmmm, Wh Nl' otrieti X .. ' 190 flliml: lo fini! After a grueling season, emotionally and physically, the Vikings emerged victorious, proving that never giving up pays off. To even get into the District tourn., which Vale was hosting, the Vikings had to beat a tough John Day team in a playoff match. lt was played in Unity, Oregon where, in the third and deciding game, the Viks came back from a 6 pt. deficit, 8-14, to win the heart-stopping game, 16-14! Two days later, the Vikings took the District title in front of an excited home town crowd.
