Class Hustory In the fall of 1954 elghteen nervous, green but eager freshmen entered the doors of Vale Hrgh School These freshmen were Patrlcla Newman Gary Seleroe Geraldlne WCISZ, Donald Scogglns, Ierry Duprel T1mmy Balderramos, Ilm Mlller Delores Payne, Frances Hawley Ruth Wrlllamson Clarence Sllvernagle Kenneth Burd, Bob Moeller and Karel Shuck Bob Moeller left us ln the wlnter of that same year That year was get acqualnt ed year for us We worked hard, taklng ln athletlcs mlxed chorus glrls glee club and boys glee club Our candldate Frances Hawley, was chosen Homecomlng Queen In our sophomore year we galned Edwln Kell who transferred to Vale from Newell but that wlnter we lost Patrlcla Newman who moved to Lead and Geraldlne Wersz who moved to Sturgls We sponsored a class supper ln the sprlng to help make our books balance durlng our IUHIOF and Senlor years Thls year Delores Payne was chosen Homecomlng Oueen We entered our gunlor year wlthout Gary Se1eroe who moved to Callfornra durlng the summer At the semester, Wesley Wrlhamson transferred to Sturgls and Dale Alexander Jolned us Taklng part 1n athlet1cs, G A A declamatron and chorus, we found our Junlor year an excltlng one Frances and Delores were our candldates for Homecomlng Oueen Karel was selected Glrls Stater wrth Delores as her alternate jlm was the Boys Stater wlth Frank as hls alter chose Falryland Ball for our Prom and Banquet w1th the Amerlcan Beauty Rose as our class flower and rose and s1lver as our class colors We selected The best way out lS always through as our class motto In the fall of 1957 fourteen sm1l1ng semors entered the swlnglng doors of Vale Hlgh for the last tlme Helen Hunt dld not Joln us for she was marrled ID the summer and Donald Scogglns had moved to Newell but Wesley Wllllamson Jolned us agaln ln the wlnter Frances Hawley left us to get marrled but con tlnued school by a correspondence course There was a moment of sadness ln our hearts for we knew that thls would be the last fall we, the Senrors of 1958 would be enterlng the halls of Vale Hlgh Thls has been a real busy but excrtlng year for us The boys partlclpated ln football basketball, mlxed chorus, whlle the glrls have taken part ln G A A , chorus, and glrls glee club As our last and flnal play we chose a hlllbllly play called Hlllbllly Weddln Delores was chosen D A R hm Mlller was chosen Vo1ce of Democracy contest candldate To end our senlor year perfectly we went to Denver Colorado, on our sup day Thrs event, I am sure wlll long remaln as one of our treasured memorles In a few days, we the Senlor Class of l958 wlll be saylng good bye to our fellow classmen our frlends, and our teach rs and the doors of good ole Vale Hlgh wlll swlng shut behlnd us ' . : ' ' , .
