Beta services enrich school program. Through meaningful projects, the Beta Club essayed to promote the values of achievement, character, and leadership. Launching the year's activities was a Satur- day morning clean-up of the Hill on which is located the school sign. Unanimous membership participation in serving approximately one thou- sand persons at a barbeque supper enabled the club to raise funds for the year's projects. Regular projects included giving morning devotions for the student body, raising and lowering the flag, and ushering for all school functions. Traditionally, twelve Beta members marshaled for Commencement Exercises. During the Christmas holidays, Beta members began preparations for their st ate, district, and county conventions. Other highlights of the year were a two-part ecological presentation, a visit by State President Jack Simpson, and the hospitable reception of the Wake County Beta Chapter. All activities fostered Beta fellowship.
