Emphasizing an understanding of the basic biological and physical prin¬ ciples comprising the student’s en¬ vironment, the Science Department sought to develop attitudes and abili¬ ties which prepared him for further study and effective citizenship. The Department of Business Edu¬ cation provided for the student a fun¬ damental background in typing, shorthand, bookkeeping, and office practices which prepared him for jobs and business school.
