ADVISORY COUNCIL: First row: Mrs. O. R. Freeman, Mrs. B. L. Cousins, Mrs. F. A. Todd. Second row: Mr. C. Sidney Williams; Mr. J. T. Knott, Chairman; Mr. Marsh W. Knott; Mr. F. O. Debnam. Mr. Aaron Fussell Superintendent of Wake County Schools Coordinating the many functions of a school as large as Whitley was a difficult job. Guiding students, conferring with teachers, planning curriculum, and supervising the various school activities were tasks expertly executed by the Administration with Mr. Dail at the helm. His vast concern for the intellectual growth and full development of each student earned for him the respect and esteem of the student body. The Advisory Council and the Superintendent also worked to give the students of Vaiden Whitley an opportunity to mold their talents and abilities. They helped provide an environment which con¬ tributed to learning and to developing the total self. Because of the combined efforts of the Admin¬ istrative Staff, Whitley attained one of its prime objectives—accreditation by the North Carolina De¬ partment of Public Instruction. 23
