Student Council President Jim Parish fits a customer dur¬ ing school store Jacket Sale. The Student Council of Vaiden Whitley High School is an integral part of the school ' s educa¬ tional program and is representative of the entire student body. Throughout the year it recognized astudent, or students, of the month with a special bulletin board display and operated the school store as a special school service. On the other hand, some projects were seasonal: assisting with Homecoming activities in the fall, giving a Christmas party for the faculty and staff, and sponsoring an Orientation Day for incoming fresh¬ men and participating in the national project Keep America Beautiful in the spring. Possibly its major project was compiling a scrapbook which gives a continuous picture of activities at Whitley Also, Council members participated in county, district, and state meetings.
