Perkinson General Horticulture, Science-Mechanics The Vocational De - partment sought to develop skills to prepare students for profitable careers or an equally rewarding life as a homemaker. Drafting, In¬ dustrial Cooperative Train¬ ing, Auto Mechanics, and a variety of agriculture-re¬ lated courses readied stu¬ dents for work or further study after graduation. Girls learn¬ ed not only the art of cook¬ ing and sewing but also the secrets of providing a whole¬ some homelife. The Music Department dealt with less tangible talents. In chorus and band young musicians learned discipline through constant practice and attempted to communicate the beauty of great compositions. Mr. Luther C.
