Homecoming A clear, crisp night--November eleventh--our first homecoming . This major event was marked by decorated goal posts and a team determined to play its best game of the season. At half-time the band, handsome in new uniforms, executed intricate drills to the grandeur of the Sound of Music . With flaming batons, the majorettes thrilled the enthusiastic fans. To climax a memorable evening, Miss Vaiden Whitley and her princess were es¬ corted to a beautiful blue and white float, where they were crowned by the captains of the two football teams. Mr. Dail and distinguished guests The Vaiden Whitley High School is a product of a determined people, willing to blaze a new trail to meet the challenges of modern education. It bears the name of one whose faith in young people, interest in education, and desire for proper facilities for development of the whole individual prompted him to give twenty-three years of active service for the cause of education.
