Our Alma Mater These interested leaders of the Beta Club met with their sponsor, Mrs. Mae Heath, January 12, 1966, to compose the Alma Mater. With much enthusiasm and pride, they pooled their ideas to produce what they hope embodies the spirit of Vaiden Whitley. Then Mr. Charles Burt set the lyrics to music. Our Mascot In order to select a mascot and the colors for Vaiden Whitley High School, a group of students equally representing the three areas met on May 21, 1965, at Vaiden Whitley High School. At this meet¬ ing suggestions were made for a mascot and school colors. On June 10, 1965, this same group selected the Warrior as the official mascot and Navy Blue and Columbia Blue as the official school colors.
