After the years of schoolwork, graduation for the class of 1988 finally came on June 3, 1988. Personally, I was glad to graduate from high school and move on with the rest of my life. On the other hand, a few people in the class were saddened by the thought of graduating and branching out into the real adult world. By quickly taking a glance down the sophomore hallway while lining up for the processional, I observed that quite a few seniors were nervous about appearing before the largest crowd they had ever appeared. During the ceremony, however, the butterflies in our stomachs were alleviated somewhat by Becky Inman’s comic goof up during her salutatory address. I don’t know if the other seniors feel the same way I do, but I don’t think I will appreciate graduating until school begins next year. — Mike Waters Valedictorian

1. “Sweet” dreams? 2. Mike and Stacey 3. Enjoying the scenery 4. Bloodshot eyes? 5. Union Station 6. ‘The Gang’ enjoys their trip 7. Night time at six flags SENIOR For a real change of pace we decided to go to St. Louis for our Senior trip . .. (where else are approximately 40 people from V.I.T. going to go on a limited budget). With our experienced driver Otis as a guide, we quickly arrived in St. Louis at the Union Station. Although, Union Station is a nice place, I am sure that most of the senior guys and perhaps some of the girls, would suggest that future classes not plan to spend three hours there. I don’t know whether or not it was planned but the seniors greatly appreciate the people at Marriots giving Us CLASS TRIP adjoining suites. Although it was quite cool, a few brave souls decided to brave the rapids of Thunder River when we went to the fun park of Mid America, Six Flags. Reluctantly, we left St. Louis at eight in the morning, after our night of fun in St. Louis. — Mike Waters 21
