After the years of schoolwork, graduation for the class of 1988 finally came on June 3, 1988. Personally, I was glad to graduate from high school and move on with the rest of my life. On the other hand, a few people in the class were saddened by the thought of graduating and branching out into the real adult world. By quickly taking a glance down the sophomore hallway while lining up for the processional, I observed that quite a few seniors were nervous about appearing before the largest crowd they had ever appeared. During the ceremony, however, the butterflies in our stomachs were alleviated somewhat by Becky Inman’s comic goof up during her salutatory address. I don’t know if the other seniors feel the same way I do, but I don’t think I will appreciate graduating until school begins next year. — Mike Waters Valedictorian
